Mill River Gardens Houses Resiliency
Mill River Gardens was damaged by flooding during Superstorm Sandy, prompting a resiliency strategy that combines hard and soft measures to protect the Long Island community from future coastal events. The project strengthens the existing community center with passive flood gates, repairs and replaces bulkhead, and introduces a raised concrete plaza along the waterfront.
